Dimensions of Sprocket

Sprockets can be classified into conventional sprockets, HK sprockets and also other sprockets.
one. Regular sprocket
Regular sprockets are ANSI sprockets which might be engaged with conventional series roller chains. See P125 for dimensions.
You can find two kinds of tooth profiles: U-tooth and S-tooth.
2. HK sprocket
HK sprockets may be engaged with HK series roller chains, and those for single strand chains are identical to regular sprockets. Having said that, sprockets for multiple strand chains are various from common sprockets in sprocket tooth profile.
3. Other sprockets
Other sprockets are designed according to the following calculation formulas to suit respective specialty chains.
The sprockets utilized for the following chains would be the same since the common sprockets in tooth gap form, but different in tooth thickness (sprocket tooth profile).
4. Calculation of sprocket dimensions
The dimensions of regular sprockets and other common sprockets are calculated as follows. In the beginning, the diameters of sprockets are calculated from the following calculation formulas.
Subsequent, sprocket tooth profile (the form of your tooth dependant upon its thickness) is calculated from your following calculation formulas. (The values proven inside the following pages have been calculated by these formulas and regarded as the conventional values.)
Calculation formulas for diameters and tooth gap forms Calculation formulas for diameters
Calculation of pitch diameter, tip diameter and caliper diameter
The fundamental dimensions of a sprocket suitable for a chain pitch of 1 mm are respectively referred to as pitch diameter component, tip diameter element and caliper diameter issue. The respective components for respective numbers of teeth are listed under. If these things are multiplied by chain pitch, the basic dimensions from the corresponding sprocket is often obtained.
Illustration:
During the case of 80 (25.40 mm pitch) with 35 teeth Pitch diameter (Dp) = P×Pitch diameter element
Calculation formulas for tooth gap varieties
Because the most rational tooth gap kinds in which the pressure angle improvements in response for the elongation of a smoothly rotated roller chain using the lapse of services time, ANSI specify two varieties of tooth profiles: U-type and S-type. Generally, S-type tooth profiles are adopted in accordance with ANSI, and our standard sprockets also have S-tooth profiles.
